Applying for UHIP as a Visiting Scholar/temporary international faculty

NOTE: If you are a post-doc/visiting scholar/temporary faculty who is being compensated by York University, your UHIP will most likely be processed by Pensions & Benefits. Please contact askpb@yorku.ca. If you are not being compensated, please complete this form.

If your convocation month is February, you are most likely already enrolled under UHIP until August. In this case, you are eligible to be extend your UHIP coverage. You will need to look into private health plans.

2) A copy of the proof of your immigration status in Canada since your UHIP coverage can only be extended up to your IRCC-approved stay in Canada. For example, a confirmation of your study or work permit, or a PGWP application submission confirmation letter from IRCC.

3) Confirmation email or letter from your department or faculty that you have completed your degree requirements and specifying the date or term of degree completion (ex. April 30, 2024 or Winter 2024). This is only needed if your record of graduation is not yet showing in the university records. *
